I graduated from Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education with a BA Hons degree in Fine Art.
During the degree course I was able to specialize in printmaking, with etching becoming my favorite medium.
I also enjoy screen-printing, a medium I use to create the images on the glass. My work starts with drawing and are mainly images taken from the landscape – winter trees and silhouetted plants.
The printed layer of glass is then capped with another piece of glass. The layers are then fired in a kiln to fuse them together into one piece.
This flat piece is then returned to the kiln to be shaped into dishes, bowls and other functional forms. I also use these techniques to make glass jewelry.
I regularly show work both locally and further afield; and was the Artist in Residence at Waddesdon Manor Plant Center during September and October.
