Profile
I love the three-dimensional eloquence of line, shape and form. Often beginningwith an elusive idea, I work intuitively through the tactile senses to refine and simplify, or expand the form, until it expresses the emotion or idea I am attempting to articulate.
My process is always one of discovery for myself and for the viewer of my artwork.
Abstraction from the human figure has been a consistent theme in my work and my particular interest is in artifacts and archetypal imagery, and it’s relevance to contemporary times.
Biographical information: I work from a studio in Farthinghoe, just outside of Banbury, and have been involved in art for over 25 years.
My background is in teaching ceramics, sculpture, quilting and paper-mache classes to children and adults at schools in my native America (San Francisco and the Bay Area).
Originally from New England USA, but now living in Jericho, Oxford, I have also run co-operative studios and exhibited in the USA, Paris and in the UK.
